Activeworx Security Center achieves four-star rating from SC Magazine

BOCA RATON, Fla. (September 12, 2006) – CrossTec Corporation’s Activeworx Security Center SIM software was awarded an overall rating of four stars in a review appearing in the September 2006 print issue of SC Magazine, the “leading industry magazine for IT security professionals,” according to the magazine’s Web site.

“We are pleased that SC Magazine has recognized Activeworx Security Center’s abundance of invaluable features,” said Jeff Richards, vice president of CrossTec’s security division.

The review underscored the high-quality, low-cost standard of Activeworx, which is priced dramatically lower than nearly all of its competitors. This is especially beneficial to small- and medium-sized businesses, which might not have IT security budgets as sizable as large enterprises.

“The Activeworx Security Center is a good investment for a small- to medium-sized business,” according to the review. “We found this product to have quite a bit of functionality at an affordable cost.”

The review goes on to praise Activeworx Security Center’s array of diagrams and charts, which provide users the ability to observe and investigate network security breaches. Using Activeworx Security Center’s correlation engine, live metrics can be correlated against events from different data types or databases and displayed in a variety of formats, including static event-relationship diagrams, for faster root cause analysis and diagnosis.

“A combination of event relationship diagrams, clear charts, graphs and logs, plus strong reporting capability make [Activeworx] a good tool for monitoring security events and alerts,” according to the review.

SC Magazine praised Activeworx Security Center’s “nice reporting and compliance features,” which include over 200 PCI, SOX, GLBA and HIPAA reports and an embedded reporting center that allows users to control parameters and schedule automated reporting tasks.
